Radiators v6 vs v8

Im replacing the rad. in my 2000 LS V8. All the auto parts stores only have the 2256 part number ( from a variety of manufacturers ). Indicating they use the same rad. So the v6 and v8 cars were the same?
Any opinions on this? I would think the v8 would have a larger core.
