Hey anyone know how to open the petcock on the radiator? I want to flush my cooling system (florida) hasnt been getting hot but I noticed the other day it did rise higher than I have ever seen it nOrmal I usally always have been around the norMal

I think mine is on the bottom and I am not sure how to turn it it is different than I have ever seen on any of my other cars

Thanks just kind of scares me to grab plyers and screw something up and have to change the radiator cus of it. I looked at mine and really dont see a handle type to turn mine almost looks all rubber almost like a gromlet

its on the passenger bottom, not the driverside, it should look like a white plastic wing nut, if its the factory radiator, sometimes you have to use pliers, specially if its never been open they can be really stuck. if you break it, and have another way to come over to tarpon, i'll give you a good radiator that i just removed from a 97!

Ok thanks I will look again Probably need to jack it up. I crawled under in the garage and not real good light, went mostly by feel, Yea Abe (my Mark 8s name) yea Abe get it Abe Lincoln lol. He has 122K black on black, with the bling bling rims had it 4 years love my Mark.....

Yeah... you're going to get what looks like coca cola out of that radiator. But as long as green goes back in, your Mark will thank you.

Keep us posted if that doesn't do the trick. Make sure you burp the cooling system when you're filling it back up.

Well I found it, drained it, cupped my mouth over the fill, and could blow all the way out the petcock, put in the flush and water filled up started an ran for 10-13 minutes, cooled and drained, flushed with my hose, let set dripping for 2 hours (while I preformed the lookie what I did lol) filled with 100 antifreeze one gallon, blew it in again cupping my mouth over the fill and blowing as hard as I could, then it took oh a 1/2 a gallon of 50\50 antifreeze. Not sure how you burp, but ran car for 30 minutes with heater on high, went down some, maybe 2 cups, let it totally cool, filled to cold fill line.

Drove to work and back today Checked it warmed up and was just below (1 inch) the cold fill line.

So hopefully it burped??

you have to fill it through the crossover pipe (above alternator) small 1/4 inch square drive hole to remove the plug, if/when this strips use a pipe wrench but be careful cuz, look closely and you can see that the part that you can actually grab onto is about the thickness of a quarter, remove it and weld a big nut to the top so you can use a wrench next time :)
