They ride fine on springs......not as nice as air.
A few members say converting to springs makes your car a t-bird.
I have springs and don't mind the ride.

OBTW nice bird.
The 96 started out at like $4k a year ago and has worked it's way down. Was going to offer $2k and I think he would take it.
The 97 has also been around for a long while, needing body work could get pricey since it isn't a replaceable panel (rear quarter, near door).

This is the one I am having checked out today, including the price of a quick paint job, I would be under $2k.
I miss my old Bird, that is why I am wanting a Mark....more options, more comfy, and a DOHC is a better starting point.
