quick aftermarket amp question

i have a zeus zxi amp and my power wire came off. i have the screw but when i put the ground wire in it sparks one time and im wondering if its safe for me to tighten the screw to hold the wire again. the car is off but the power is connected to the battery still. do i have to take off the power cable to put the screw in safely? its a pain since the battery is under the the amp and the whole thing ways a ton.

never mind i took off the remote wire which turns off the amp.

next time... it's a good idea to remove the power to the amp at the battery, reattach your power cable(s) to your amp, then re-power-up the amp

remove the ground then connect the power then the ground again.
