Well, dropped the engine and trans today, will get to see soon, what's messed up in the motor. :shifty: Glad the damn rain, wind, and cold finally stopped for a day! :D Anyhow, on the 97 I got from Nolan (good guy, still owe a debt of 25 to him) it has 3 more connectors then my 94. Do I just have to swap the main harnesses? Here are the pics. Oh, the two blues and the black are the ones I am referring to.

I have a 97 trans in both of my 94's and had one in my red 94 too.:D

Keep the 94 trans harness with the 94 car. You also need the 94 MLPS, speed sensor, and TCC solenoid.

The blue connectors are for the extra cats that the 97 has.:)

There are two additional O2 sensors on the 97 (total of 4) since it's OBD-II (rear two are after the cats to monitor their performance).

A 94 only has two O2 sensors. I don't know what harness you have and maybe two of them are for these.

OOps, like he said, I meant extra O2 sensors, not cats.:)

And yes, the TCC solenoid is inside the the trans pan, there's a photo of it here somwhere.

Another quick question. Why is it required to replace the tcc solenoid? Wouldn't they all be the same in 93-97 Marks 4R70Ws?

Some people say you don't have to swap the TCC solenoid. I'm not sure, I always did, it's easy, I had the part anyway, and I've never had a problem.

As far as re pinning for a 98 trans, I'll never understand why you would want to go through all that instead of repinning the connector. It literally takes 2 minutes to re pin it. Just make sure you are using the right drawing. There was a wrong drawing going around at one time.

As far as the other connector, I'm not sure, but who cares, just use the right harness.:D

I posted a correct re-pin diagram in this thread.
