The argument has been made that OEM parts are better then aftermarket store bought and that some parts you can get away with buying aftermarket. Now, with that being said I have a question for the LS guys out there who replaced these parts.

Hydraulic fan pump

Thermostat

For you guys out there who have replaced these parts what have you guys gone with, OEM or aftermarket? Also, did you notice much of a difference in price and quality?

:D

I recently had my thermostat replaced by the dealer. Looking at my receipt, it looks like I only paid $22.44 for the thermostat (just the part, not including labor or the other parts involved). So it's not that much money to debate over, just buy the OEM thermostat part # XW4Z-8575-CA.

I can't comment on the hydraulic fan pump, but I would just go OEM for most parts. That's just me. FYI, that part was for a 2000 LS. Good Luck.
