My mark viii trunk lights dont work as tail lights or brake lights but when i use my key fob to open the trunk unlock or lock the car they all light up. Any ideas? By the way got a beautiful mark for sale check her out

Check the wires. They are located on the drivers side trunk arm. They break and the next thing you know no power to lights etc.......Or intermitent power. You most likely have enough for a brief flash when you use the fob but not enough power to run all the lights or you got lucky and had brief contact when you used the fob. Worth a try that was my problem

Check fuses,brake switch,and your multi function switch.pull a light out in back and see if any power is coming off the wires with a test light.
