Tried searching but search function was not too helpful...

Wondering if anyone here is running either 255/40/18 or 255/35/19's on their cars as it seems these diameters are much closer to the the factory 235/50/17. 245/40/18 and 245/35/19 are .5 smaller in diameter...my car is not lowered and I don't plan on doing so, so I'd rather not exagerate the fender gaps any more than they are already..but I also do not want to run into any rubbing issues. For the record, both wheels that I'm looking at are 8.5 wide, ET42. Any insight will be greatful.

Thanks

I have 245/40/18 on a lowered car with 40 offset up front. No rubbing.

I think there are couple of people with 255/40/18. I dont know their offsets but i think if you were to go with 255/40/18 on 42mm wheel on a non lowered car they would look better than big 245/45s or a bit small 245/40s.

As for rubbing im sure you gonna be alright up front just gotta watch those dip/quick turn ins not to open the fender up. In the back you might get occasional rubbing on the rear part of the fender liner but you can easily get rid of it by shaving that little piece off.

I think 245/45/18s look way too big and ruin the looks of 18"wheels. Go with 255/18/40s.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Heylife, it does help. Now I've pretty much decided against 18" Coventrys because I don't think they will look as nice as in 19". So I will probably go with the 19's and go 255/35...if they rub I will go 245 but I think it will be alright, it's worth the risk I guess because I'd always be wondering how the 255's would look LOL
