my 06 ls uses 3157 and 3457 for turn signals can i use 3157 bulbs in the 3457 socket or will this cause problems?

you'd have to look at the filament setup to see... i dont recall if they're the same on not... from another site.......

looks like 3457 has more lumens, more watts, etc. i remember thinking that 3157 was for Fords, and 3457 was for Chevy's. i do know that if you put a Chevy bulb in our cars, it will blow the fuses....been there, tried that.

as far as LED's, though...i know most places have a 3157/3457 replacement that works in place of either...and will work in either application.

I have been using in my 04, the 3157 silver coated/amber bulb front and back for three years, no problem.

I'm assuming your asking ( because your post wasn't very detailed) that you have 3457s and want to use them in your LS. If the bulb runs "hotter" than stock u run the risk of melting.... There is every bulb in every style online.... Id order the correct one.

As stated 3457 use more current produce more lumens and run hotter. A 3157 will fit in the sae socket and will work if slightly dimmer. How much of a difference it will make in percieved brightness in the real work I don't know.

I have the 3157 chrome look bulbs in the front running lights/signals and they work fine.

Mine are a bluish/ orange (changes color depending where your standing)... They look good..

I had silver stars in the read turn signals before I swap to the LSE tails. They looked lue/greyish when off. I like the look of the chrome bulbs better.

Been using 3157 chrome turn signal bulbs for the past 5 years or so and couldn't be happier. The light output is reduced since there is a coating on them, but when they're off they're gnarly bro.
