The center light doesn't light up with the brakes. Also, I didn't find a spot to plug that ground wire that is coming out of the light to. The neon has been off my car for over a year so I don't remember where that ground went to and didn't see a where it went.

Anyone know what's going on with the brake light? The neon lights up when the lights are on but when you hit the brake it doesn't light up.

Thanks

Also, I didn't have my old ballast. I came across this thread.

In which the OP says you need the old ballast for the swap. Only thing I can think of is needing the old plugs. I just soldered everything.

I think it grounds to the trunk.
The ground strap is short, look for a hole a sheet metal screw would fit into.

I can look later I don't remember.
I think you need the old ballast for the plugs, ground strap.

There is a adjustment on the ballast for brightness.
Try playing with it, maybe is too bright to start with.

there is a tiny screw on the side of the ballast, actually if you read all the directions you would have seen rich tells you right off the bat you usually have to dim the light down, the way it is right now, your setting on the tail light is too bright, thats why you cant see a change when you hit the brakes, you have to use a small flathead like for eyeglasses to turn the screw, keep turning it while the tail light is on until you see it dim down to match the tail lights on the car, then step on the brakes and you will see the difference, its easy to adjust.

Great, finally you got that working now. What do you have left to do with the car?

I painted the trim piece we grabbed at the junk yard yesterday so that's done also. Still trying to track down either a HVAC or the motor controller for the AC unit to try to get the AC working. I had it fogged by my shop and they said everything looks good except for right behind the dash where they couldn't get too b/c my stereo is in the way ( they did get behind the glove compartment though ). I had the compressor filled and the air is still cold but it just doesn't come out of the vents. I need to get that part.

Also, my drivers seat trim is all jacked up and need to fix that, ohh and when I was painting I I discovered a rust hole in the back right wheel well that I'm going to fiberglass over so I don't hear all the road noise. Also, I'm going to take the doors off and put in some type of deadener ( suggestions welcome ). Also, need to get another of whatever is causing the memory for the seats to be reset every time I get in the car.

The list just goes on and on. Trying to get to everything while I have the time. lol Called you the other day to see what you were up to this weekend. Wanted to see if you wanted to get together. If you have that door piece separated yet I'd want that.

edit: also I sanded down the front lenses again but this time I'm going to clear over them with some clearcoat to keep this yellow from coming back. Also need to claybar the car and prep it for summer weather.
edit2: also thinking about adding in an 8inch sub...
