Pros/Cons of these Intakes....Gen1 V8

I might be selling my CAI with MAF adapter. I did it myself and even made a thread on here about it. Let me know if anyone would be interested in it.

some interesting info, alluminum intake is bad for heat transfer... plastic will be better for intakes and it is cheaper to produce.

The effect of a material upon heat transfer rates is often expressed in terms of a number known as the heat transfer coefficient. Heat transfer coefficients are numerical values that are determined by experiment. The higher that the coefficient is for a particular material, the more rapidly that heat will be transferred through that material. Materials with relatively high heat transfer coefficients are referred to as thermal conductors. Materials with relatively low heat transfer coefficients are referred to as thermal insulators. The table below lists heat transfer coefficients (k) for a variety of materials, in units of W/m/°C.

You just lost 5 sex points, 2 cool, and a beer from me:Beer <----fun you missed........I therefore award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Seriously, you guys are arguing .01253 hps of aluminum vs. plastic. To the OP, I did as Hite said. Just bought the tube, seperate filter and MAF, skipped the Hite special ;) and did it for under $200. The other setup I'm sure is fine - I don't like the extra couplings to worry about (unmetered air) and look. I origionally bought the cheaper CAI, but it's collecting dust in the closet because of the spa tube that goes to the TB, Kmart filter and couplings seemed great for a 95 civic. I prefer the cleaner look.

great to hear that i missed a hypothetical beer party with a guy on the internet.... in fact I don't much care what you think, but carry on

Apparently you're not a fan of sarcasm or Adam Sandler movies. It wasn't to be taken as an attack on you as a person or anything. Just a lot of useless info in that post.

But hey, if we plan on building a intake tube out of sheep wool or solid brick we'll come right to you for answers.

Apparently you're not a fan of knowledge.

Here is the thing, If I tell you this car is 1,000,000,000.00 dollars but you do not know what a dollar is worth nor the car, that is valueless information.

Now when I tell you this lincoln is 10,000.00 dollars and this honda is 1,000 dollars as well as other examples that you are familiar with, you now have value and meaning for those items.

But hey, gettin laid by a slut and drinking beer is cooler than learning... so I can understand.

Anyways, I take nothing on the internet as personal, or an attack. However I do try to teach what I know, and learn anything I can. Try it, it is liberating. To accept another's view, and use to further your own comprehension is the only way to learn and innovate, closed minds get you no where.....
