Whos got a programmer that can turn off vats and disable emissons for so I can test start my 32v in my hotrod?

Sam

VATS=GM
PATS=ford.

second youll either need to buy a programmer or send the ecu in to have it disabled. you cant just borrow one.

True that. An XCal is about $100 used and is what would be best.

I wasn't asking to 'borrow' it.. I was asking who I could take/send my ecm to.
(for money)

Well what year do you have? I had an XCal II and it worked fine. In fact, it is what I needed to upload programs. I would upload to the XCal and then to the car. But it can be used on its own to set many parameters of the car.

This is the one:

You Austin Boys, I tell ya. I sure hope this isn't slab drifta. They dont know how to treat Lincolns right. There is a guy in Bastrop that has a lot of contacts, and there is a guy down here by me in Houston that can chip your Mark for a fee as well.

I will be in Bastrop next weekend for the annual car show.. I'm interested to talk to him, I'd take my ecu with me.

this is a 1998 DOHC 4.6, box code BTC0 (which no one seems to list a strategy for)..

yes, u can program the injectors, and timing.. but.. can u disable security and turn of emmisions? I don't care about the 1st two..

I have an Edge programmer sitting here from my 06 F150.. (also a 4.6) sold 2 yrs ago..

thanks.. I read and re-read and its completely unclear if I can control the 3 things I want to control.. and/or without buying a 'program/tune'

Sam

Try shooting them an e-mail. Friendly folk.

Although I've never actually tried it, there is a "anti-theft" switch in the SCT software for the BTC0 PCM.
