Programing a keyless remote?

I did a few quick searches and didn't find any info on programing a keyless remote. I did find how to program a new key though.

So can some one give me information on how to program a keyless remote for 2002 Lincoln LS?

Thanks in advance and I'm sure this has been covered many times before, I just couldn't find it with the search.

Been there before and it just says to program a keyless remote you bring it to the dealership. The manual does tell you how to program a new key though but not a remote. So again any one that can tell me how to reprogram a keyless remote? Thanks

It's pretty easy to do on the Gen IIs (2003-2006). I've read (but don't know if it's true) that dealer equipment is required to do it on the Gen I.

That is because you can't, its a dealer thing as it says in the Owners Manual. The 2nd gen are the ones you can program yourself.
