I cannot remember what it's called in Ford-speak, but I turned on the dimming function on the rear-view mirror to help reduce the glare from the jacka$$ behind me with his high beams on. I haven't been able to turn it off since. I believe that it involves some type of chemical reaction (?). I never used the feature before and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. ;)

i have that problem to, but I have a half inch wavy section on the top that has cleared the rest is dark.

Welcome to the faulty rearview mirror club! I believe it's a somewhat common problem. It's been suggested that you replace it once it starts to fail, since occasionally they will leak onto your console and cause damage there. I found a replacement on ebay for seventy and change. New ones are around a hundred.
