Premium, Sport, or??

How do you tell the difference between the Sport, Premium, Ultimate trim levels?? Also can you tell by looking at mine what level it is?
 
just the basic LS. chrome trim on the bumpers, no sst, wood steering wheel/shift knob all indicate that it's not a sport. The Ultimate and Premium were gen 2 names i believe
 
The wheels are the upgrade sport wheels though since they are chrome. If those are the original wheels then most likely they were extra. There were three wheels that were the same style, just different color. The chrome wheels and the ones that had the polished lip and dark spokes. Do you have the invoice?

Maybe it's the booze, but what is sst?
 
SST has a second gate for manual shifting of the automatic.
It looks like an H pattern. You move the shifter over to the right side of the H and can up and down shift the transmission.
I've only used it a couple of times since buying my 04 in march of 07.
I'm happy with my SCT tune and the way it shifts just using the gas pedal.
However if you want to run the car at a drag strip it may be handy.
 
Yes,
One can adjust shift firmness and shift points with an SCT or XCal2 tuner.
I shift by pulling my foot back off the accelerator a bit when I want the trans to shift.

Oh Todd...... bet that's the first time youv'e heard that. I can only assume you said Oh God, because you think it was a waste of your time for me to ask this. You see, I have only had my Lincoln a short time so you'll have to pardon my "dumb" questions. I grew up on A-833 four speeds ('70 Roadrunner) ,Torque Flights ('69 Dart GTS), Muncie M-22's('56 Chevy),C-4('69 Mach 1), C-6 ('71 Boss 351), and the occasional TH-400 in my (2) SD455 Trans Am's. I know being in your mid 40's this is probably the end all beat all transmission for you, but it doesn't compare with the gears I have rowed.

Now that you have your LS for a short time you might read your owner’s manual. If you don’t have one you can down load one from the TECH ARTICALS at the top of the page. The owner’s manual can shed some light on the LS features and operation.
