Hey I got a 2000lsv8 and the power steering whines on cold starts and when turning but goes away.. I read that its caused from a bad inlet o-ring and letting air in the system.
Where can I order the o ring?

Ford dealer for the exact part.

Or you can try your local auto parts store... but you may have to remove the old o-ring first to get the right size... which means you will need alternate transportation.

I would go the dealer or check Ford Parts Giant, and hope Ford gave it a number! I say this because of an issue I had with an Escort last year. I need to pull the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) to check the transmission oil and the o-ring on the VSS should be changed every time the VSS is pulled. Thing was, no one could find a # for the o-ring, apparently Ford never gave it one! I was able to get a FOMOCO VSS, pry the o-ring out of it, measure the groove with calipers, go online and find an o-ring supplier, go through the table until I found a groove my size and bought 50 o-rings of the corresponding size. I used 'The O-Ring Store LLC'.
