Will a Gen 2 Power Steering Pump assembly, fit, or work on a Gen 1?
any modifications needed?

Um Don't think so. I bought a pump from JY for my 93 they gave me a 98 and they where NOT the same. The 93(gen1) has a soloniod on the pump the gen 11 controls steering speed on the rack and no soloniod on pump.Edit let me run out to garage and check my 97 pump. BRB

OK just checked my 97 pump and it has the speed sensitive soloniod on it. I know the pump JY gave me didn't have this on it because that was only reason I was buying pump for solonoid. I might be crazy thou and need more input on this. If your new pump has the solonoid on it your good. Edit the JY might have given me a Thunderbird pump???

Don't forget the Teflon on the bottom nut, it has a tendency to leak once you take it off then put it back on

Took me an 1/2 hour and thats with the motor out of the car. I also had to move a bunch of injector pump lines just to make clearance. Plan a good afternoon with that one.

With something like that, best to buy new. I would hate to do that job twice in the car.
