The proper way to install teflon rings is with an instalation cone. I think you can get one from Ford for the PS seals. Someone had a post up where they made their own on a lathe. I would be shocked if DLF did not already have one. When I replaced my pressure hose the guy at the ford dealer said the mechanics in their shop soak the rings in hot water to soften it up and then carefully slip it over the fitting threads. It worked for me. You do need to be very carefull installing teflon seals since any damage can cause a leak. I used to work as a process engineer in hydraulic valve manufacturing. We installed millions of these and o-rings over threads every year. We always reqiured assemblers to use nylon or steel cones although the experienced assemblers could instal them at a high rate using steel picks and never damage a single one.
