Hi,

I just had servo bores replaced on my transmission and after I picked the car up from the local mechanic and took it for a drive I immediately noticed that the power steering doesn't work the same. The wheel turns much harder then it used to and the condition remains the same with speed increase. It just feels weird. Its almost like someone screwed something a bit too tight. I am hopping that the the condition is temporary and maybe as I drive it for a bit it will resolve itself!?

Did anyone remember experiencing anything similar? What could I check?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't expect it to resolve itself. You need to take it back and get them to fix it, or take it somewhere that can. It's hard to guess what they might have done. It's not a simple answer like they left something unplugged (would make the effort easier, not harder).

that is strange though, i have heard this before... someone else has had this problem in the last year.

Thanks for all responses.

Absolutely. I don't expect this to fix itself either. I did check the fluid. To me it seems like something is over-tighten to say the least. The car is definitely going back I am just looking if someone had a similar problem before. Things just dont happen by themselves.

Maybe they were out of Mercon V when filling the transmission, so they used whatever was left in the PS reservoir, and filled it with some generic crap afterwards.
