are you looking at a 1.8t a 2.7t or a n/a audi? if its the 2.7t and you're a modder then you'll find out really soon that everything on the 2.7t is shoehorned into the engine bay (even after you remove the 48 plastic panels that make it look clean) and the computer doesnt like mods, the first thing you will have to do is get it flashed or chipped. the 1.8t isnt really a bad motor, as long as you maintain it like any motor, timing belts suck to do, clutches are actually quite easy though, the ecu doesnt freak out as easily but chipping it would be in your best interest and it helps a lot on performance. a buddy of mine has a 1.8t jetta that will run with corvettes (he also has about half a dozen credit cards to pay off because parts arent cheap). i dont really know a lot about the n/a audis so if its n/a then i really dont have an opinion except you would probly wish you went boosted instead lol. also get the awd, if you start to make any decent power the front wheels like to hop and dont hook worth a damn. to make this simple, its german engineering lol, i'm not a big fan of it. as far as the ls goes, i've never owned one but always liked them but not being able to get a v8 with a manual tranny (or being able to do a simple swap to one) stops me from buying one.
