Poor mans Airbox

Was just looking through the tech articles and came across this.. does this really improve performance? Basically do you guys suggest this? I mean its a pretty easy modification and if its potentially can help the performance to my engine/car why not?
Any real risks of F'n something up?

Seriously, you should pick up a little. An engine is just an air pump, after all. The real benefit is the intake roar! That sound alone is worth cutting the bottom off

+1 Even better, just pick up a Ford MAF adapter at NAPA and a cheap Spectre Cone filter for $30 and get even more performance.

It would be a waist of time and isn't worth the broken cutting disk.

I dont know how the cut air box sounds but cone air filter sounds great, to me. Cutting all those extra panels off the intake helps the sound too.

I have an MAF adapter for a custom CAI for sale if you want to go with a cone filter set up. I bought it for 100 shipped but are selling it for 35 plus shipping. Never used it because I went with a KNN set up instead. Still in shipped box that I got it in.
