97 with 111K miles. 2 weeks ago #6 cop crapped out. All is well. Yesterday I get # 2 problem. Is it common for the cop's to crap one every couple of weeks? The plugs look good and I don't think their very old. This car will get sold as soon as the 95 gets finished. (wife took the 95 today and I told her no farts in the new seat) I have toooo much money into this car at this time. Should I change all the cop's or just as they crap out? Will a bad cop create what feels like trans shutter? Just up-graded to mercon 5 a couple months ago, and that made a difference. I took the car and brought it up to 5500RPM'S and the tach never missed a beat, but I saw the speedometer jump a couple of times. I'm glad I re-stocked the Bourbon. Thanks for any info TONYyyy

It's not uncommon for the cop's to go bad. You might do 2 or 3 in 2 or 3 weeks and then not do another for 2 or 3 years. I'd just replace the bad one. And yes a lot of people associate this with trans shudder when it's actually a misfire. At least 50% of the people that bring ford trucks to our shop think they have a trans problem when it's actually a misfire, because they almost always miss under load, in overdrive at low rpm. Run them hard and they usually don't miss.

I experienced the same thing with my 99 Expedition. I bought a complete cheap Charlie set off ebay with boots and all for $80 shipped. That was 2 years ago. It has been fine since then.

Changed the COP, went for a ride and was worried about getting home. Pulled the plug and it was Autolite #104. Swapped it with a good used and I hope it's fixed. Runs fine and tester comes 0. Thanks again Shifts smooth as it should

What Chargerxr said! i just went through 3 last year, at seperate times, now all is good with the 98 LSC! whenever i go to the wrecking yard, i usually pull 1 or 2, and keep 1 with me, just in case. they're cheap, and usually good out of the yards.
