On my '00 LS8 I replaced the A/C compressor when I had the engine tore up since the car at the time had 145k and it was already out.
I took the car in last Saturday to have the A/C system charged up. Unfortunately the mechanic I took it to, said that he could not get the system to cool off. There was a vacuum on the low side and high pressure on the high side indicating a possible blocked line.
My question is, where would it be likely this restriction could be? Expansion valve? Is it safe to disconnect the lines and try compressed air to clean out the lines?
Of course it's tight in there.
