My 2006 lincoln ls just turned 80,000 miles and is running good as far as I know. However, today a service park brake came up on my message center and when I turned the car off it automatically applied my park brake and then the car beeped kind of rapidly like 7 times immediately after I turned the key? I've never seen this happen and was wondering why. Secondly, My check engine light came on last night and It came up catalytic converter when I had it scanned at auto zone but I haven't read on hear about that being a common problem so I was wondering if anyone has had a cat issue with this car and how to go about it. Lastly, I have powerstop drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic brake pads all the way around and had them installed about three months ago but I'm hearing a very unusual noise when applying my brakes that's coming from the front passenger side and I've a had the rotors and pads checked by the dealer and they say everything is wearing properly but I know something is up. I think it has something to do with my caliper but I'm taking it to American brake tomorrow morning to get checked out. If anyone can give any ideas or info with these issues I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks LVC!

Unfortunately, cat problems are not too uncommon. You may have one or more marginal ignition coils that have lightly misfired enough to have ruined one or both cats. (Could be a sensor problem instead).
The parking brake could be (1) Your battery is getting weak, (2) A problem induced by EMI from a failing coil or a failing DCCV, (3) An actual mechanical problem with you rear brakes, (4) The parking brake module is failing, or (5) the plastic in the parking brake button is breaking.

Wow. Looks like I will be spending some $$$ on her the next month or so. I'm know it's probably due for new coils and plugs cause they have never been changed. But why did the car beep 7 times give or take when I shut it off and why did the park brake engage automatically at the same time as the beeps?

The beeps were a warning about the parking brake problem.
