Ok, so when my car shifts, or i give it light throttle on and off (between acc and deaccell) i feel some rockege if you will, in my drivetrain. I have been having a lot of fun with the car and i'm assuming its a mount or some kind of bushing. I just don't know from you're guys' experience on what usually goes. i have like 119K so far.

i know my 1-2 spring is bad, so a jmod or shift kit is soon. but before i get all under there at my buddys shop i wanted to know what to look for first for this.

Also when I park it, the car will slightly rock back and forth.

Anyone got diagrams of the motor and trans mounts? Or possible something related to the driveshaft u joints bushings or what not. My diff was just a couple months ago and the guy doing it said the carrier bushings were in good shape.

I'm sure from all the launching ive been doing with the 4.10's have taken there toll on stuff in the motor mount / trans mount department. Any suggestions?

The motion that you are describing is backlash, most likely in the differential or somewhere in the trans. Adjusting the backlash is done with shims I think

my diff was just serviced... if it happends to be that i can bring it back to the guy and he can adjust it i guess. But I want to rule out the mounts and other bushings and what not before I go make a case that the backlash needs to be adjusted. I feel it in the steering wheel and pedal its not major but i've felt a similar thing when ive had motor mounts go bad in the past.

when i put my car in park it will go foward or back a little bit...i think its my torque converter.

Every auto car / truck i have driven / owned rocks back and forth slightly if held only on the transmission brake. Its probably just compounded 'play' in the locking pin, gears and joints.

yea but when if i blip the throttle lightly i can feel the motor/trans i guess rocking a bit. My first thought is mounts, does anyone have a diagram of the motor or trans mounts?

i wanted the torque specs more or less.... i guess ill have to go the library and cash out the chilllton again

tight.........? how about opening the hood, put it in drive and kinda brake torque it a little (not enough to spin the tires just to load the eng) and see if it moves alot, then try it in reverse, if a mount is bad it will be obvious

my money is on the drivers side motor mount.
The test method described above will definatley point out the problem

when I broke my drivers motor mount, the engine moved ALOT when going from reverse to drive and back to reverse.

either that or the differential bushings... they will make some funky movement occur {regardless of what they used to look like)

trans makes some funky noises from time to time selecting the drive, sorta like a DRSH sound.
