pioneer touch screen cd player

hi, i had mark viiis in the past and whenever i put a aftermarket stereo the shop told that i have to bypass the jbl factory amp in the trunk. i now have another mark and want to install a pioneer touch screen,a friend says that i do not have to bypass the jbl amp,just get the wire harness for the front to match up the factory plugs to the head unit.any thoughts would be possible. at the moment i am not hooking up a aftermarket amp, just the head unit i am installing.thanks for your time

no bypassing...just get the harness and you'll be set....also if its a DVD player make sure you get the 2 way switch b/c the new Pioneer units require the switch inorder to view the video while its out of park.
