How do you remove these weird pins under the hood. The ones that are on the cowl and right behind the grill.

Get a small screw driver or something and push down on the center of each pin. The center part will go down about 1/4" and then you can remove the whole pin.
To re-install, pop the center part up to where it is about 1/4" above the surface of the pin. Put the pins in, then push the center part down to where it is even with the surface of the pin to lock it in place.

The ones that hold the plastic cover over the radiator screw out; once they spin freely, pull up to remove.

To remove the pins that hold the cowl cover in place, push down (gently) on the center portion of the pin. It should go down one "click," maybe a few millimeters, then you'll be able to pull the pin out of the hole. To reinstall the pin, push the center pin out so it stands above the head of the pin, stick the pin back in the hole, and push the center pin down so it's flush with the head.

Good point, I saw "cowl" which is at the windshield, and didn't notice "grill." I wonder which the OP really meant?
