After the 42lb nightmare I decided to keep the mass air sensor and do a custom cold air intake. Tell me what ya think!

I like that allot better then the LMS one, did you weld that up your self or find something at home depot? Notice any difference in sound or performance?

I got all the fittings from ebay 4" aluminum intake parts. It sounds very nice and it brings in cold air! So its functional!

now that we know that the compressor is gone... good idea jamming the filter in there..

i should have thought of that on my last mark viii

That is a very clean set up, I like it a lot! It is also a true cold air intake. Nice job.

Your mass air transfer function is definitely off with the bigger MAF and the bend in the intake. Besides that it's a cool setup.

I use the Sniper tuner, the special forces will not get your MAF transfer function perfect although it will get you close. There is an option for a 90mm mass air meter as well as cold air intake setup. Also if you end up getting the Sniper we can compare our datalogging and tunes and learn from each other.

The ECU is underneath the steering wheel column, there are a couple bolts you have to unscrew to get to it and then poke in there with a flash light and it will be written on the ECU. Usually when you get a chip or SCT tuner you have to tell them what the code is before they can make you a tune, with the sniper you plug in the interface through the OBD2 port and then you store it on your computer, it will automatically tell you what the code is.
