well as long as you guys are around to answer my dumb questions i should be fine.

There is no such thing as a dumb question, just dumb people. And its our mission to make you less dumb, so ask away! LOL

Me like, good choice,so do you think the mark viii is faster then the mark vii and are those plug wires stock or are they msd's,whats the miles and do you need any advice on stuff yet.

Hey Joey... nice car are you still sporting a Hardon!!! LOL... only a few hours away until pick up time...

Hope the weather holds out so you can make a stop on your way home.

We can go over a few things...

I think you did good...

That has got to be the ugliest Mark VIII that I have ever seen. I think that you should just drive it to my house and leave it so that you do not have to be seen in the hideous thing. Just trying to protect you man.

I love those Toreador Red over Grey Marks. Good luck with it.

I'M home. 7 hours on train to car. 7 hours in car to home through the worst fog i have ever driven.

i was going to go to mespocks but the weather was worsening and i saw a HUGE wreck leaving milwaukee on 94. decided to heel and toe it for home. a car spun coming off an exit ramp and went across at least three lanes and hit several other cars. in front of me.

then i was notified that tomorrow afternoon here in illinois it's gonna ice again. decided to just head home.

So WHAT color is the paint? Garnet Red or Toreador Red?

Oh, just so you know, me and the car bonded right away, it's WAY faster than my vii, handles better, and is already lowered an inch. very comfy.

the only complaint i have about the car is the transmission shudders at times. is this a bad sign?

Well I am heading down towards Mespock either Sat late afternoon or Sunday morning.... Not sure, saw the same storms, but either way I am going!

From the photos it looks Garnet red, but the paint code will tell us for sure. Toreado red has a pear/orange hue.

The shudder means it needs a fluid change. If the shifts are harsh, then the 1-2 accumulator needs replacing. A J-Mod with accumulator change and a switch to Mercon V would be a GREAT idea.

the car has been sitting a long while, and it has mercon v in it. time for a change.

im looking into the j-mod and accumulator, but i know better than to do that myself.

How many miles on that clean 93 of yours? It is hard to find the early Gen I's in that condition .

Joey,

Get the Accumulator from Max at 5 Star Ford. But Call Jim or e-mail him to see if he did the accumulator, because his mechanic has owned a Mark VIII for a while and Jim had this car a couple years so he may have had that done already. If he's smart enough to have Mercon V in it then he may already know abou the accumulator and have had that done.

If not then accumulator, J-Mod (if you want) and tranny fluid. You can do the accumulator yourself if you are comfortable turning a wrench.

The shutter should only need a tranny flush.

I figured that you wouldn't make it yesterday due to weather, and you were smart to head home. Sorry to have missed you. Did mini-me enjoy the trip?

Like I PMed you call me as I have a few thing for you to do, and always feel welcome to come up and visit or play with your Mark...

Oh and because I was involved in this purchase... ummm that obligates you to come to the Beach Party in July so mark the weekend of July 19th on your calender as you have no choice... or else I'll send the Mark VIII gremlins your way.

I am planning on coming up, though my pale ass will remain clothed at all times.

Sorry i missed coming to your place, maybe in the spring i can come up for a couple days, the drive was very easy (once i left milwaukee.)

Thanks for everyones help.

The car has right at 150k on it, and actually looks better in person than in that picture. the only issues with looks are paint in the drivers side door handle is worn off, clear on the front bumper is chipping (naturally) and the rear window weather seal is, how do you say, humping up? hahah.

I am really liking this car. I miss my vii but I'm tellin you, i doubt if i would trade back at this time.

laters.

I think I recognize the car. If it is it I remember it always being clean when driving by, he always waved to the fellow Mark owner. Maybe who knows.

thats garnett red, 93's are garnett red code EG, 94's and 95's were garnett red glaze code GF. Toreador red wasnt a paint color until 96. thats a very clean looking mark. i just repainted my buddie's wifes 94. her paint was shot, its garnett red glaze i just finished it this morning. go look under anything goes you can see pics of it, looks like yours only has saddle interior, my least favorite interior!!
