Hey guys I got a 2000 Lincoln LS recently, and it has that factory lincoln phone in the arm rest. My question is: Does anyone know of a way to setup a nextel to be in sinc with the car so that I can use the nextel it its place? Or is the only way to use the phone to contact lincoln customer service and get a plan on the phone? I don't need 2 phone lines lol., but want to be able to use my nextel with the hands free system in the car. Thanks guys. Love this sit btw.

Congrats on the car... As for the phone..I dont think hooking up a nextel is possible..but if it is your probably gonna have to do some serious wiring I suppose:shifty:

I have the same phone, it's a cool feature. However, I think it's analog which means it won't work after the 1st quarter of 2008:(

i have the phone jack, and oddly enough a cable jack in my console as well, yet not phone...i also have an SOS button next to my sunroof switch...

Does anyone know how to get this working? I'm good with electronics, so if there's a way to do some custom work to get this going with a Motorola phone that'd be excellent.

I've got a 2002 LS with VCS (Voice Command System) and I have the "Info" and "SOS" buttons up by my moonroof as well. However, I'm more interested in getting the hands-free phone portion working.

There are some threads on this already. The radios in the LS's (and many upper model Ford and Mercury) can be made to work with just about any Nokia or any other phone with blue-tooth. Ford sells a wiring harness adapter (about $50) to use with the Motorola blue-tooth hands free kit. However, you can adapt it to also work with kits from Nokia or Parrot. (Some cut/splice/soldering required in the latter two cases.)
The Parrot LS3200 kit is pretty cool. All you have to do to start a call is to say "Call."
