ok, i say we all go up to Eibach, Koni, or Tokico, AEM, Crane cams, JE pistones, wiseco, whatever...DART, we need aftermarket support, recognize the LS...could this work?

screw that, we need equal support as honda, ford, nissan, GM, toyota, Mopar, mitsubishi, and mazda...

for real...lets bug the hell out of them...i believe it would happen if everyone helped...we may even get sponshorships or test vehicles...hell yeah, ill slap a sticker on my car if they give me this....come on...whats the worst that could happen?

Have you looked through previous post about getting aftermarket companies to side with LS owners? There's nothing. Almost everything is one off customs and limited production

I'm not trying to bust your chops or flame you. I just know alot of guys on here have tried different avenues w. aftermarket companies and haven't really gotten anywhere.

The economics is not there for these companies to give 2 shts about the LS.

so sad, our market is so small.... If you want aftermarket "power" options get a prelude. That may be blasphemy around here though.

About the only way you could get their attention is to have 100 paid pre-orders.

This has been discussed extensively on explorerforum. There is only slightly more aftermarket support for explorers than there is for LS's. We can't even get a manufacturer to make underdrive pulleys for the 5.0L explorer engine. Think about how many 5.0L Explorers are on the road in relation to LS's.

I hate to kill your dreams, but the economics aren't there for a company to profit from building aftermarket parts for a limited market.

Throughout the short history of the LS, Lincoln only managed to sell about 260,000 of them. Makes an average of about 43,000 cars per year. Combine that with the differences between the first and second generation cars, and the simple fact that most LS buyers just don't care about after market performance. It would be too difficult and to expensive to design and manufacture after market parts for such a limited market.

Honda has been selling the same cars for YEARS, there are millions of Hondas on the road in the U.S. alone.
In February alone this year (2008) in the North American market, Honda sold 23,800 Civics. Not including the Hybrids. In all of 2007 they sold over 300,000. That's more cars sold on only ONE continent, in ONE year than the LS ever did worldwide for 6 years.

This is the exact reason why I chose not to support the LS with a full bolt-on turbo kit. From a business standpoint it is just not a smart investment. The numbers and demographics speak for themselves here.

is that the same guy who has money growing out his butthole? who else is going to spend thousands on the custom pistons (pistones?) and custom cams and custom heads for limited gain? I dont know about you but im saving my money for what i really need....a divorce........

i sound like a miserable prick....i know it....i am right now and id like to say why. My best friend of 20 years got hit in a crosswalk beside me 3 months ago by some idiot who was drunk and decided to drive......i ve never met anyone smarter, more fun, or with more ambition than this man.....now all he can move is his head. All he talks about is suicide. He s asked me to kill him. 3 weeks ago my 25 year old cousin was cut in half when she was hit by a drunk driver.....she was supposed to be married saturday april 5th. Her fiancee...a friend of mine, commited suicide 3 days ago because he couldn't deal with his losss.....Whoever you are....Mr. thirdeye....i read your thread where you were excited about gettin piss drunk and slamming into a tree at 90 mph......your a :q:q:q:qin retard. Your pathetic and you should be ashamed of yourself regardless of the fact you live in bum:q:q:q:q arkansas....the next time you get behind the wheel drunk.....i hope you kill yourself real quick....and only yourself

Damn.

I really dont think the LS is worth it to drop all this money into. Seriously you can go alot faster for alot cheaper with other cars. Respect the LS for what it is a LUXURY SPORT. It was not built to be a muscle car. It is a pretty quick car that handles like it is on rails but if you want a fast car go buy a GTO.

LS Performance

With all due respect for the various attitudes out there, I've always been a great believer in owning a 'sleeper'. My '02 LS is substantially less money to own and operate than anything that could begin to take it's place. I can spend money to make it significantly fast for much less than it would cost to buy anything else with the combination of comfort, style and sheer go-power that I have.

Having already set two land speed records, support to go on and improve even more is available. I do almost all the work necessary, with the help of my crew. And because it's really a daily driver, I have the fun of putting my foot in it several times a day. I don't go over the speed limit much, but getting to 60 or so very quickly makes me smile. Ricer kids tend to look the other way.

Most of the parts that wear out can be easily enough replaced with Jaguar bits. And Jaguar will continue to use pieces of the same basic design for the forseeable future.

ILLS, have you considered exploring how much change you'd have to make to make your kit fit an XK or XJ?
Just a thought--

I have not given much thought to it. If someone were to request that I do that for their Jag then I would do something. I am sure it would not take much to adapt to the others. Even if I had to design a whole new system for the XK's or XJ's it would not be that hard to do. The major items to consider would be how the stocker items are routed in the undercarriage, ride height, front bumper spacing, and placement of the TB on the intake manifold.
