Hello, I recently bought a 2005 Lincoln LS V6, and am cerious as to things that will improve performance? Are LS chipped? Big or small, open to all suggestions short of replacing the engine.

Welcome to the forum. A quick search will turn up a lot the answers, or lack of, depending on how you look at what you learn.

Alright, thank you. Sorry for the inconvenience, I am new as you can obviously see, not just new to the site, new to the whole forum gig.

This was the first and only forum I have ever joined. You will get the hang of it pretty quick. The best way to search would be google, but the search function on here is a good help too. Happy searching my friend.

Welcome to LVC btw

No inconvenience. Just know u will find a lot more in the format of existing threads since what you asked is a good, but common, question for new LS owners. But, post some pics of it. We like pics alot!!!!!! :)

Alright, so, I've done a little searching, and saw a good spot to start is a after market cold are intake, any suggestions on exact models and or brands? I am a novice wrench turner, so suggestions are helpful!

K&N on the air intake. I have never installed one on a gen 2(2003-2006 model years). I recall someone on here saying something about the install threw them for a small loop before figuring out the way to finish the installation. Someone may be able to verify what I am saying or shoot it full of holes. LOL.

Head for the exhaust threads next.....

And then the suspension threads if you have interest in that as well.

Silly me, asking dumb questions again.

Aren't you just a vault of information. ;-)

Wait til mechanical things come up. Joegr is a legend in that area. LoudLS can tell you basically anything about the electronics end of things. Hite337 is rock solid with metal fabrication. Bullschmidt is our first member with coilovers and is working through that process. Manoli for custom emblems. Drizzle and Soop on custom matte wrapping. I could go on and on.

The key on this forum is read and retain.

Unfortunately, there is very, very little available for the V6. I have an early SS intake tube and cone filter. It's for the V6 and I don't know if it will work on the 2nd gen V6. You're probably limited to a Magnaflow exhaust (15hp on the dyno) and K&N panel filter without spending massive amounts of cash.

Custom tunes are a good way to go also, at least in my experience on the two v8 LSs that I have had. Not a lot of HP there, but transmission tuning can change a car's personality.

Welcome to LVC. Unfortunately the LS is limited to performance mods, and even less with the v6, but you're only limited to the girth of your wallet. As mentioned Google search will help big time and you'll learn that quite a few folks on here know their way around the automobile.

Copy this into google search minus the quotes and brackets:

"site: lincolnvscadillac.com [Whatever you're searching for]"

'Njoy!

Welcome. Pictures are a must. Do you have any future mods besides performance planned?

Basic built ons for performance: CAI, exhaust, and tune.

Best person to talk to for a tune would be Torrie. XCAL is the way to go.

Exhaust is a personal thing. Try youtube for exhaust clips of different LSes. There is a a LS video topic "pinned" at the top of the LS section. There are a few video clips of exhaust setups there.

Htie337 does make and sell a heat shield for the intake.

Have you thought of doing a brake up grade? Lots of options. All really depends on how much you want to spend.

Wheels. Again more of a personal thing. Jaguar wheels seem to be the ticket for styling. !9's seem to be the perfect size to go with.

Do I detect a little bit of sarcasm? If so, buddy you are definitely in the right forum. I like a member with some stand up in them.

So with that being said, at least I am the one who researched what mods were available for the LS before spending thousands of dollars on a vehicle to only THEN begin asking what could be done. In this day and age there is so much info out there on the internet, making an informed car purchase is as easy as wiping your ass.

Need some instructions on how to research in order to learn about doing that too?

;) back at you.

i have found that if you really want more performance (as in more power?) for your V6, you basically have three options, a bottle, a turbo, or a for sale sign.
