I'm looking into buying a new/rebuilt transmission that already has the jmod done, high stall converter, etc. What is the best place to buy one? What stall converter other than stock would be good for daily driving with some interstate driving with 4.10s? I have checked with supercoupe but what others are there?
 
I got a trans rebuilt by a guy I know off another forum and am very happy with it. It was a good price and had a lot of internal mods as well as the tailshaft lub mod. Didn't know him before but checked out references from a couple guys he built trannys for on the site.

I Got a TC from Lonnie @ BOC to go with it. Went with a 3500 stall but my 4.10s are still in the trunk waiting to go in.
 
Dont Reinhart Automotive sell them, or rebuild them for you. He is in Florida pretty close to you.

Prices??? Specs? At 100k I'd like to do the jmods n 'stuff. Although I think with the miles it would make more sense to just rebuild with some nice mods. I just want a tranny I won't break if I drop the hammer once in a while.:confused:
 
if you don't want to spend alot of money.All you need to do is find a low mileage trans out of a 98 mark viii. Put a trans cooler , get a J-mod done and you're set.It'll hold way more power than you think ,if you won't overheat it.
 
Better checkout Mr. Reinhart and his transmission debockle from a couple years ago. Do the research.

If you want to come up here we do the bullet proof 4R70W with a 2400 stall, all fluids and install for $1650.00 including a 12/12 warranty.
 
What stall would be best? All I have done is trac-lok and 4.10s. I need to do the jmod. Right now at WOT, It won't break the tires loose or even chirp em 1-2 unless I manuel shift. Will the jmod help this in OD? And I also hit the rev limiter 1-2 at WOT in OD. What can I do to help that? A Chip? I was thinking about a new or different trans because even after I changed my 1-2 accumulator it still has a somewhat hard 1-2 shift. When its cold, its smooth but when it warms up or when the a/c is on, its kinda hard. I do have trans cooler.
 
Whats included in the 'bulletproof' trans? What hp will it handle? Can you ship them?

I have a 3500 stall. I talked to a few people before I decided to go with it. I still have the stock gears. 4.10s will be in a weak or two but I love it.

hey im in the same boat. i have the lms chip and when i pull it off and do a couple pulls man hitting the rev limiter is WACK, also the chip helps with slippage. my trannys def feeling a little under the weather. 1-2 squeaks at wot most of the time od off.

i dont have a trans cooler and i have yet to replace the acc springs - jmod shift kit etc

i figured ide do all that first and that should solve my issues. everytime i shift i feel play like a rock after it shifts... i have to get someone to watch me go from reverse to d vice versa to see if its my mounts or what.

which brings me full circle to the fact that i havn't done it all yet because i figure once i open all that up i want to switch out the TC for a 3500 stall. Do it all at once ya know.

3500 extra in the bullet proof trans? how much hp can it run?

I have 4.10s in my car and it seems i should go wiht at least a 3000 stall... do you do this kit wiht the 3k? could it be adjusted to include one? i live in CT which isnt too too far from you and i have plans on trans/TC this summer for my 98. Let me know or PM me wiht some details on this!
