Does anyone have a definitive answer as to what the spring rates are on the '02 Sport suspension? (Front and rear please) And beyond that, what're the rates on the aftermarket lowering/performance/handling springs. I am finally in process of fitting the double-adjustable competition Konis and as part of the project, I'll have to spec springs for the coil-over arrangement.

I'd also be very appreciative of any feed-back regarding the ride and handling changes (improvements?) after going to the aftermarket springs.

If anyone in proximity to Metro Detroit has a set of cast-off replaced shocks for a Gen 1 setting in the garage, I'd very much like to have a chance to do some measuring/ photographing. Please post here or PM me in this regard.

Please also see my instant posts in the HP section under 'Land Speed LS'. Thank you for any input!

The stock springs are tapered, with the largest coil diameter at the top. I've thought that somewhere in the literature there'd be mention of the spring 'weights'. (I do have access to a set of scales used for track racing, and expect that Koni might be able to tell me what I'll need if I give them readings. It's just less work to have someone give me numbers from their knowledge base than to take an hour or so to scale the car after an hour's trip to go get the scales.)

I just did a similar project on my Esprit - custom GAZ adjustable coilovers and they designed my springs to my spec. Figuring out what the spec needed to be took a lot of thought - I added a APR GTC-200 adjustable wing to the rear and some canards on the front - so I needed to increase the spring rate to work with the higher downforce.

I don't have the answers on the stock LS spring rate - but most places with a hydralic spring compressor should be able to tell you - putting one on the bench and squeezing it...
