so on daily ebay prowl I came across this load of crap, its one of those performace chips so I sent the seller the following just to see what they say,

Dear rexracingusa,

Hi I have a few questions regarding you "Performance" chips.

first, actual dyno-tuning won't release 130 hp, so how does your "chip" go about doing this.

What values in the PCM are trying to change by pluging this in, I mean you say it doesn't change the PCM but in order to change values or the way a car opperates you have load new values in place of old ones.

Also I thought I would let you know because you are trying to scam people don't make it so obvious by mispelling words warrentee is actually spelled "warranty".

Thank you, if you can actually prove me wrong maybe I'll buy one or get two and double my power.

I'll let you know what he says. I can only inagine the response.

lol you wont get a reply :) only really stupid people would ever buy this load of crap and they deserve it if they are that dumb. If its to good to be true, well it is.

I hope I do I just want to know what they say about their product and "how it works"

it says it is an IAT signal mod - nothing more than a resistor to tell the PCM that is -40 outside to bump the mixture a little rich...

Ha yeah he wont reply, but it would be hilarious if he did.

When my friend got his g37, he went on ebay and was about to buy that tornado fuel saver that goes in the intake. Then I told him not to, it's bs. He then found the chips and was braging about how he was going to have a g37 with 100+ more hp, but I told him that was bs too. He then moved on to the little electric fan/turbine. Oh and he also almost bought those fake turbo sounds gizmos.

Specially the turbo sounding gizmo.
I mean for crying out loud, He owned a saturn and put 4x4 badges on the side of it.
Now tell me...... what goes on in these ppls head when they do this stuff?

One of my friends had one of those fake turbos, someone gave it to him and just to see what would happen he put on one of his cars. He said it was actually so restrictive it would stall the car out if he revved it.

what a joke

so really what its going to do is hurt you mpg's thats so funny if I could gain 100 HP just from making my car run a little rich everyone would do it

when I picked my LS up from the dealer lot I bought it at there were all these hidden wires going under the steering wheel to my air flow sensor. I never knew what it was until I started ripping the trim off and tracking it all down. Turns out I had a performance module hidden in there and had no idea about it. Theres a wire going to the trunk for power that needs to be to the battery but I always thought it was something for my stereo. I still don't have it powered up but Im just wondering what it really does. Anyone ever heard of this place?
the one I have hidden in there is the Tri phase one, at $180 its not to cheap...

Well that's weird! I clicked on the link and the auction is suddenly not available! Don't suppose you reported him to eBay did you? They take this stuff seriously... If you don't I will. Hell, I'll do it anyway. :)

so, what does that even mean, he dodged all my questionswhat a load of :q:q:q:q.

Yep, there's no way you'll get him to admit that all he's putting into that piece of crap box is a large resistor. He wants to save that glorious revelation after you receive it and open it - knowing that you won't be able to return it.

What I'm not sure of is whether or not his "description" in advertising the auction protects him from negative feedback. Ebay is a little more stringent on what is allowed for sending and receiving negative feedback these days.

Now, if there is a way to post comments or questions on the auction that others can see, you could try asking if there is more than just a resistor in it as you know of several other sellers/manufacturers of this little gem that only have the resistor in it. That could at least alert other people that it could be a rip-off without accusing him or actually using similar phrases.

They obviously must still be getting suckers, because they're still selling them.

yeah I would imagine that alot of young kids in high school get drug into this cheap horsepower scam. I mean when you budget is 50 bucks and you see this, of course youre going to buy it if you don't know any better.
