PCV valve question

That little screw should never be adjusted. Its like a big no no and I have no idea why, but I was told if I touched in there is a special place in hell or something :D LOL

Is there an open vac port? On my setup there was a port behind the TB that I had closed off since I have no clue what it was for and did not use it for anything. Its attached right behind the TB. Here is is highlighted in yellow. In fact I think I missed this when I set it up. Now this is my old intake and not the same intake you have at all, but I am just pointing out that there can be an open vac port you may have missed?

i am the service manager at an auto repair shop, so i had my technician look at it, he adjusted the screw and it seemed to help. .i dont see why it shouldnt be adjusted.

but as far as an open vacuum port, i dont think there is one. it just stared doing this one day and threw the iac code so i put a new iac in and it still idle like crap. weird.

I need to figure this one out.!!! anyone have any other ideas?

Well if the IAC is compensating for a leak by going further than the PCM thinks it should you will get a CE.

I am still thinking vac leak.

All my throttle bodies have a label warning not to adjust that screw, FYI.

Not sure here but any chance you cleaned the tb with carb cleaner. I think that can let more air in than wanted when closed. Just an idea.

True true. but i ported it out with a dremel. ntohing drastic but i think i would have noticed an immediate high idle condition, not one 6 months later...

Jesus!

I just checked the codes (no check engine light today) but it had 6 codes pending

What the hell?

well i cleaned it up, and slightly knife-edged the blades, but slightly is the word there.. ill try to find some pictures. but i did cut the screws that hold the butterflys. They stick out a little bit. I know its not much but i was bored.:)

You are holding the butterflies open in that pic, right? They are not doing that on there own? :)

A closed pic may be better. Its really best not to mess with a TB. Cleaning, adjusting really not the best ideas. I would say, since it would only take minutes, to swap in another TB if you have one.

Are you using the mark or cobra tb. I dont know if there is a difference. I have a mark one but its painted red to match the car. It worked when I replaced the motor two years ago. Pm me if interested.

Tell me what your Thinkin $ PM. this came off my original motor. left over now that I replaced it with a fresher one.

Only guide i have is thomasA has one for 10.00

Stupid question... why is there a hole between the plates? All of mine just have a dimple there, not drilled open. At least I think! I know my Mach one does not have the hole.

Dont know but it doesnt go any where. No air flows thru it.?????????

thats where that screw i told you guys i adjusted goes through the middle of, its the idle adjustment.

I have no screw on the front of mine! I even have pics of two different TBs. By the way, the third pic is of a Mach TB. I am not using that one I think. Just odd how the machining on the back is different.

Not making a big deal about this. Just something interesting! lol

The back side opening is for the iac i believe. What do you think the hole and bump on the front just a casting thing. Probably to save money some how.

That is quite odd....

Not sure, about that. I tightened a few bolts a little tighter, fixed a very small vacuum leak on the Fuel Pressure Regulator hose and took the cables off the battery for about 10 minutes and touched them together..

Idled well but still a little bit slow to return to idle after you snap the throttle. I think i am going to drill a small hole in the plastic and into the bracket to help close the throttle body quicker and give me a little better pedal feel..
