Hello,

Just joined the site. I have a 2004 Lincoln LS V6 that I just purchased in April. I have been leaking oil and it appears the first thing I'm doing is replacing the PCV hose cuz oil is leaking out onto the manifold. I'm ordering a new hose and PCV valve but my question is this. Does the valve come with the hose assembly? Appears they come seperate but want to make sure. I'm not even sure I need the PCV valve but I'm guessing that is the root of the problem and its just spitting out the hose. The car is using alot more gas than usual and at anything above 35mph it sputters and shakes. I had the EGR checked but was told it looked fine. Any help is greatly appreciated, trying to learn as much about this car as I can.....Thanks alot!

P.S. The CEL has been on for a big part of 4 months also!

The PCV valve is not likely to be your problem. It is possibly the PCV hose but more likely the IMT Valves or the valve cover gasket leaking oil onto your manifold.

Get that code read post haste. That will help us diagnose your problems with the sputter. But that is likely one or more coils. I replaced mine, along with the IMT valve o-rings and the intake manifold gaskets at 97k with similar problems to yours. Cost about $500 for parts and 8 hours to do it all myself.
