PCM box code

I've been around and around with SCT in regards to my 3.0.
Had them logged into my machine remotely and Matt said.. "yea, it's slow.. much slower than 2.9, that's normal"..and he also said.."your the only one having this problem"..

In one sentence it was "normal" and in another sentence he said "nobody else reported such a problem"... gotta love "consistancy".

PCM for 1998 Mark VIII

Hello all.

I have a Mark VIII with the MLX0 PCM. I can't seem to find a pcm def file for any of the editors out there nor can I find the Ford strategy book for it.

Does anyone have or have a link to a strategy book for this CMBAx strategy?

How about a PCM definition file?

BTW, I have the Moates quarterhorse programmable chip setup ( just received it )

I can assure you that there isn't a .def or a .bin of the CMBA0 or CMAI9 strategy floating around on this website.

there are a few here familiar with CMBA0 (myself included) and none have seen what you call a "strategy book"..<---what is that?

if you have the QH stuff then you hopefully have the B.E. stuff to go with it?
The QH folks should have been able to direct you do a proper .def or .bin file that you need, if not...then you definately chose the wrong tuning product.

I really like the moates QH stuff to be honest.. it does show potential.
But

I truely hope moates didn't send you seeking your def file "on the lincoln boards".

Thanks for your reply. I PMed a link to some online copies of the strategy guides.

I have the BE software along with other software and much documentation on the hardware for EEC-IV. I also have some details on the EEC-V but nowhere near the detail.

I knew Moates didn't have a def file for my box code when I bought the unit. I also have 2 other 1st gen EEC-IV Mark VIIIs I am going to be racing in the lemons race. The MLX0 equipped 98 mark is my daily driver.

I am a professional software engineer with lots of embedded experience so I am not afraid of tracing through the code to match up the strategy with a similar one and create a def file and commented disassembly for it. I would like to start with as much knowledge as possible so I am asking for anything that is out there for the EEC-V particularly for the Mark VIII and Cobra cars.

I suspect the most similar 'tune' to the late Mark VIII is the Mustang Cobra of similar vintage with an automatic. Does this seem accurate?

Any assistance or resources would be helpful.

they didn't make any cobras with automatics.

the tunes for the cobras will be similar, but there are pretty significant differences due to the intake volume differences between the cobra and the mark 8..

also same applies to the EEC 4 mark 8's compared to the 97-98's.
