PBR Lincoln Brakes

I have some 04 Mustang GT brakes lying around so I put them in a blast cabinet and cleaned them up. Then took the face to a grinder wheel and removed the mold line to get a flat face. Took an engraver and freehanded the star and painted them black with high temp paint.

After drying I took a fine point brush and again freehanded the red in the star.....looks good from 5 feet away but now I know what to do on my next calipers. Next time I think I will use a Dremel with a disc on it to get a deeper and more of a straighter cut. I think the lines will be allot cleaner and I can use thicker red paint. I need to use a ruler next time too, my visual judgment is not as good as I thought it was….as you can see.

Personally, I would have used one of the newer style Lincoln emblems. A steady hand would help as well. I have a friend out here that bought a gen1 off of me and put cobra brakes on it. He did the same thing but used the newer version of the star, came out pretty nice.

Yeah, after reviewing them I do like the enclosed point look better but this was just an experiment to see if it was possible. I think if I used a cut off wheel (Small) I can get straighter lines..... I thought about making a metal template but just a thought for now.

When you install them, could you please show the step by step process? I want to do this to mine. I have a set of PBR's waiting to go on something.
