Painting the lower grill chrome?

i was thinking of getting some chrome spraypaint and clear coat today and painting the lower bumper grill to match my top one. has anyone done this before or knows if this would look good? my lower grill still has that stock shape:

Im not sure how that would turn out. IMO, i think it looks fine the way it is, but im not much of a chrome fan. Plus what happens if you dont like it?

Chrome spray paint doesnts exactly come out looking chrome, more like a shiny silver. Also take into consideration how much of a beating that lower grill takes while driving. Could very easily end up looking worse down the line.

I don't think that that's a good idea at all. Just leave it the way it is, if you want more chrome on your car, then put chrome wheels.

I will reiterate the point that Fla02LS made: "Chrome" spray paint isn't chrome. Don't let the cap color fool you. It really is more like a highly metallic silver. Real chrome has a shiny mirror-like finish. You can not get that from a spray can. Test out your paint on a piece of scrap first. You'll see.

Actually, I have seem chrome come from a spray can.. I'm trying to rack my brain on what website I say the paint.. But in the end, the can was REALLY expensive.. They had a demo video and everything of them actually using the spray can and it coming out chrome...

Chrome won't get you home . . . but it may get you laid. Trying to get a quality chrome finish out of a can is tuff but can be done with the right product. Good luck

Alsa-Corp is the company that makes the chrome paint in a spray can. They also make it in gun-spray sizes. That is what is used on cars that are completely painted to look chrome.

You might try Eastwood's reflective chrome paint. It comes as a system with the metalic and a clearcoat. Havn't tried it, but Eastwood has a pretty good reputation.
