This is a multipart question.... Its along the lines of Chad's

I've got a few spots to fix on the Mark (front bumper, hood, roof)

I've got a guy that will spray it, fix all the dings and dents, prep work, and fix the rust that's coming through on my running panel? in front of my drivers rear wheel for 2000... paint included...

Or I can just fix the front, hood and roof for around 600 he said...

1. Is that a good price? I know that a full on respray with prep can run upwards of 4-6K with good work at a decent shop. This guy is good, I work with him and have seen his side stuff... Mexican customs :)

2. Should I just fix it and wait for a full respray and worry about it matching later? the sides and trunk look good and I have another guy who is AMAZING with a polisher/detailer, said he could blend. But obviously new paint will look better than the older stuff

3. I have been thinking about a Two tone. I've seen some sick two tone marks albeit they were gen1's... Black on top and either a dark silver/gray or a deep dark red (my 13" cobra calipers are candied that color)
Could someone p'chop that with my car??? My pics are up :D

Let me know guys!!!

Assuming the guy does good work, $2000 for a repaint, ding repair and rust repair sounds pretty darn good to me.

How long will it take him?

If you’re going to do it, do the whole car. If you do half the other half will just piss you off till it’s fixed, as far as a price, it always hard to tell until the paint job is done, I have seen awesome jobs for only 2K and crapy one that cost 5K.

If this guy has a good booth and good equipment I say go for it, I would suggest inspecting the car after the prep and before he lays down any color to make sure everything was fixed right. If he says you can’t do that go some where else. It’s your car and your money, so be a real pick a-hole over it. (It works just ask slowmark)

I'm kind of looking at the same thing. I want to get the LSC re-sprayed after power tour and I thought about just the hood and bumper but the door dings and rust would eat at me till I got it fixed, my wife is already tired of my bitching about wanting to be painted.

I just got a bid on a paintjob on my hood and both bumpers. Crossroads Collision bid it @ $657.00 for just the hood and $1200.00 for just the 2 bumpers. evidently the bumpers have to come off for them to paint them is what i was told. yikes! Maaco is sounding better by the day.

You need to find a small shop and take the bumpers and hood off yourself.
Have them spray the stuff off the car.

I getting ready to get my own gun.
I have some of the old stuff pops left me, but would like to get a gravity feed HVLP.
I have a black hood to mess around with....if I could find the time.

Stack put up some pics of the rust....or we will have to have a meet now that you can drive.

I got the gun and my garage is already set up as a paint booth from the previous owner, I just don’t have a good compressor.

After the wife leaves I have plenty of time to mess around with that stuff.
You ever do any of that paint work your self ford nut

I told you pick a weekend or weekday; we can have a BBQ at my house! :D

I know we have to just pick a day and time.
Maybe next week I got the week off and think I will be in your neck of the woods.

I have helped paint a lot of cars, but never my own.
I have a older brother is is great at it but it takes him so dam long.
He also has no time.

When I get this house done and gone, or rented then get settled in lakeville I am going to become a garage hermit.
I got a super nice 3 stall.
Just have to get my stuff over there this summer.

If you two tone it, I will B@tch slap you when I see you.

I would have to see how bad the rust is any pics?

This is right in front of the drivers rear

And its getting nice out so we need to figure a meet out one of these days!

i'm so glad i can do bodywork and painting myself, i wouldn't pay 300 to get a car repainted by someone else nevermind $2,000 and up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
being able to do it yourself saves so much for other things like bbq ribs and beer.

So Jaime... if I got my car to you in FL what are we looking at... whats the Action on that?

(We will see if anybody gets that reference)

bring it here, leave it in my shop, give me a decent chunk of time to fix it and i'll repair the rot with new metal and do the rest of the bodywork and repaint the whole car for 2 grand. it will look brand new again.

Whats a decent amount of time? Cause i don't think I will driving it this winter!

Ya we do, just something quick for a burger and a beer would rock.
Eric has been beging us to go out there.

Its rot alright yuk.
I hate what the salt does to $hit.

To start I would agree with the Kid...get the rust out and get some por 15 on it.
