Ok, so I'm chasing down a P0411 code associated with the secondary air pump. So I figure I'd replace the O2 sensors since they are 150k miles old and may be giving poor readings. So I put all new 4 O2 sensors in the car. Throw a lone code P1151. So take out new sensors, put in old sensors, and get same code after clearing it. Hmmmm, so put new sensors back in, and pop the same P1151 code. I know what the P1151 represents (lots of things), but has anyone had this before and what was their fix??????????????????????????oh! 2001 V6

I'd look really closely at the car side connector for the front driver's O2 sensor. Look at the wiring to it as well.

ok will do. There was only the P0411 before I changed the O2 sensors, now that is gone. Been driving for 10 days and the P0411 is no more. Will check those wires carefully and get back to you.

This is a Atlanta Ga car, no rust or corrosives. Cleaned old grime off the terminals. Everything like new. wires nice and tight in connector, wires all covered with the plastic wrap, no bends in exposed wire ends, no cuts or exposed metal.

I wonder if you were to temporarily swap the bank 1 and 2 connections, if the code would stay with bank 2 or if it would move to bank 1?

gonna try swapping around the old and new sensors in the morning to see what happens. checked voltage to front sensors 12V, put thermo couple on sensors and it shows steady heat rise with key on, so I know the heaters in the sensors are working. Do the wires go to the PCM? Maybe the connector needs tested.

First rule of troubleshooting is what has changed? New sensors, new code. I'm going to go with a defective new O2 sensor (electrical items can and do fail out of the box), and will guess that if you switch the front O2 sensors that you will get a Bank 1 failure code to replace that Bank 2 code you have now.

Yep, going back t beggining here, put old sensors back in, now I get p1131! So I'm gonna swap sides again to see if it goes back to P1151. Once i narrow it down to the sensor, then I'll swap in a new sensor and see what happens.

Yep, swapped sensor positions and found bad sensor. will update when repair complete.

Repair complete installed new upstream sensor, code cleared, now I'm back to the P0411.

Defective secondary air pump, defective valve, broken hose from the pump to the exhaust, loose wiring connector. ???
