So i get the P0411 air pump incorrect flow message. The manual says check the pump motor and the manual says not serviceable. Yeah right. The motor is a simple electric motor 12V 2 amp. I tried 12v 1.75 amp and not enough power. Ok, used a air hose to clear out the electric motor, found long motor brushes for long life nice. Lots of dust build up from brushes. cleaned it all out, runs like a champ. The manual says it has a filter which is not serviceable, yeah right.
removed housing cover (1 screw) gently pryed off outer lid, and found filter.
Filter is cheap piece of foam, junk....ok take foam out, dust it off, put it back in. reinstall pump motor with new 1" hose clamps (2). reset cel light, now driving. Will update when issue solved.

To be fair, you wouldn't want to pay dealer labor to do that, particularly considering that it might not work for long.
On the other hand, that's exactly what you would want to try as a DIY.

Correct!

Dealer just replace, and not repair. A cheap motor is $130, not counting labor to install it. I've had this car for 11 years, getting to know her pretty well, but something new always pops up to keep it interesting.

Will keep testing to find the source of the p0411 mystery, have until march 14 to fix it for emissions.

Checked voltages to pump relay,,,,pins 1 hot to pin 4 ground 12v+ (good), pins 5 hot (key in on position) to pin 4 ground 12v+ (good), jumped pin 1 and pin 2 supply voltage to pump, pump runs with jumper. Wiring checks out. Ordered new pump relay, will post results as they are realized.

The pump relay was bad. Put the new one in and 3 days no CEL, I can hear the air pump running on cold starts. All fixed.

Oh crap! 3 days without a CEL and the P0411 comes back to haunt me! And I get a nail in the front tire! Just not my day. Ok, then plenty of good sunshine and warm weather in Atlanta Ga the next few days, so under the car I go.
