Like the title says I have this code popping up. I have new autolite platinum spark plugs and new coil packs. I pulled the new coil off on cylinder 6 and examined it pretty good.

Everything is connected and I used electronic connector spray on the plug-in to the coil and then disconnected the battery for a couple hours. After putting the car back together I drove about 40 miles before it popped up again. I pulled the coil and plug to see if everything was ok on the spark plug and it is. I used an old coil I know is good, reset the system and that code is still popping up along with a blinking CEL on accelaration.

Any ideas? Fuel injector maybe?

The only other code, (P0174) I have now is saying I have a vacuum leak, but I haven't had time to search that out yet.

Sounds to me like it might be a fuel injector is not plugged in all the way. I had that problem when I put my car back together. Start the car and let it idle and press on the connection of the fuel injector.

Yes, I will have to give everything another look over.

I always double check myself when I disassemble and reassemble things I work on, but anything is possible. When I first got the car going I had a CEL tell me a vacuum leak at the EVAP canister. I looked at the three lines that go to it and the big one with the white connector was backed off about a 1/4 inch. The cheesy lock on that vacuum line is heat baked and disintegrated and doesn't snap into place anymore. I had to clamp that one.

:p Well, After work early this morning I took my flashlight with me and look a the fuel injector wiring at #6. I pushed on the connector and heard the sweet sweet sound of "click".

Needless to say it was that plug.
Now, how it became disconnected is beyond me. I just started getting this code about a week ago. I'm HAPPY that is what it was! Thanks guys for your help!! :wrench
