p0174 problem, pinging etc. (already searched)

well, cel came on today, hook it up to the obdII computer, it read p0174. system to lean. all my 02 sensors are new. ive read it may be a vacuum leak, i hear a his under the hood but no noticable diffrence. could it be a cracked pcv tube? my car also pings like crazy. i think i may need to go back to the stock plugs.

if it's running too lean that will cause the pinging. could be a number of things....fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel filter....or a major air leak. Usually it's an air leak and on the v6's the pcv tube is usually the culprit. You should use a piece of tube as a stethascope to try to pinpoint where the leak is coming from.

get a long piece of vacuum tubing (say 1/4" ) and hold one end to your ear and move the other end around in the engine bay (engine running) till you find the hissing sound.
