I'm getting ready to order everything for a new HU install.

I have read many threads on here and I am confusing myself more then I think I need.

I have a 01 3.9 with Apline in dash 6 disk player.

I have factory rear sub shelf so I have a total of 8 speakers.

I already have on my list the "pop" eliminator for the factory sub.

Also I have the Metra double din kit and Metra ASWC for the steering controls.

Here's where I'm confused...which Metra wiring adaptors do I need?

1. 70-1771 ?
2. 70-5519 ?
3. 71-1771 ?

I think those are the only 3 connections I need? I am going to attempt to wire in the RAPs due to it a great feature. I am really going to miss the auto volume from the stock HU but that thing is really starting to act up and it's going to go.

The main harness covers power, ground, and all of the door speakers which are powered from the radio..

The second harness is the rear amp turn on and you need the RCA's for signal to the factory "subs"

The third harness is where you will hook up the data wire for the steering wheel controls

If you have center console speakers and want them to work, you will have to run a set of rca's to the amp under the front dash and splice them in too.

Thanks bud.....I haven't had to put a stereo in anything from the 2000's yet...haha...mostly 70's to 90's.

I'm looking at a JVC KWAV60BT.....it has all the features that I like....seems to bee a really solid unit, and I have a sweet spot for JVC since I switched over from Pioneer.

I know it's a "cheaper" non Nav unit....but I don't need Nav....I have a Garmin for all my cars now.

No, you have the twelve speaker system. Each door speaker assembly counts as two speakers (at least as far as Lincoln Marketing was concerned). If you tell someone you have the eight speaker system, you won't get the harness that allows you to connect the factory subs and the center console speakers. (I still wouldn't connect the center console speakers unless you have a headunit with a center channel.)

^ why would you recommend is this?...is this because the factory console speakers arnt exactly meant for full range?

They are two high range center speakers that are single channel for both. The factory headunit has a DSP based center channel output that drives them. Very few aftermarket headunits have a center channel output. Are you going to connect both console speakers to the left or right channel? (The factory amp is mono, so you can't do both left and right.) Either way, it won't sound right for the driver or the passenger, or it may even be wrong for both the driver and the passenger.

Joegr I read all your threads on this and no I will not hook up those center things.......blah to my ears.

Thats where I seen the RAP location and am planning on keeping that option.

As well as the popping from the factory amp.

Going to nip all those things right away.

I'm going to redo the ash tray assembly to house dual power sources and a usb port. Either that or its going in the center console for a usb stick of music......no need for an MP3 player.

I did see a thread you mentioned the doors are considered 2 each? I added a factory rear sub box from another LS and actually am not sure if it had it to begin with. I had to mount it and just hook it up to this connector and it worked right off the bat.

Makes sense when you put it that way... Im abandoning both factory amps in my 06, and im replacing the center console speakers with co-axle kicker 3.5" full range speakers. I have an alpine 125w X 4 that will be powering the door speakers/tweeters and center console speakers. Of the center console speakers, one will be a "L" and one will be a "R", wired directly to the return from the amp, so problem solved :) ...i just wanted to make sure i wasnt missing anything

...or you could redo the ashtray to accommodate something else...like idk, maybe a bass knob and a LED control knob ;)
