After getting new suspension parts and tires installed, I am feeling brakes grabbing/pulsing (not ABS)... and it's much worse than it ever was... most likely rotor issues.

I spent last night and today reading this forum and other internet sites.

I have decided on Porterfield R4-S brake pads (already ordered) and R1Concepts rotors.

Trying to decide on one of the following (price includes shipping):

R1 Concepts ELINE BRAKE DISC WITH SILVER ZINC - Slotted ($199)
(The blank face one in the ELINE does not have the Zinc Military Spec Plating for rust protection)
http://www.r1concepts.com/lincoln-LS-2002-brakes-ES.61060.htm
G3000 iron grade

R1 Concepts PREMIUM SERIES BRAKE DISC WITH BLACK E-COATED HUB - Blank ($244)
http://www.r1concepts.com/lincoln-LS-2002-brakes-POE.61060.htm
G3500 iron grade

R1 Concepts PREMIUM SERIES BRAKE DISC WITH BLACK E-COATED HUB - Slotted ($332)
http://www.r1concepts.com/lincoln-LS-2002-brakes-PS.61060.htm
G3500 iron grade

Note: Premium brake rotors are machined using a higher strength cast iron disc, usually a G3500 iron grade.

I don't want drilled, and only want slotted to change up the look... but could settle for a blank I guess. If I'm spending this kind of money I might as well get some looks out of it... is what I have been thinking.

Standard ELINE Slotted - or Premium Blanks? (Might skip the Premium Slotted due to cost).

G3000 or G3500 Iron?

(I can get 4 stock Motorcraft blanks for $215 shipped, but aren't R1Concepts better.. and for a similar price, why not go with R1Concepts?)

Anyone have the R1Concepts ELINE Zinc rotors (non-premium) that are rusting bad?

I keep adding one set in my cart, then deleting and adding a different set... I am ready to order now... just trying to make a final decision.

Which one? (I didn't want the RotorPro's package, as I already have the StopTech SS Brake Lines, and I want the Porterfield R4-S Brake Pads).

Also... is there anyone noticing noise with the R1Concepts Slotted only rotors?
(I know slotted will go through the pads quicker, but then so does D/S rotors).

I can hear a woosh woosh woosh noise under hard braking with my rotors. ATE PremiumOne.

Anyone have a current/valid R1Concepts coupon code I could use?

(I have checked internet sites etc and the ones I have found for R1Concepts are expired).
I see there was a 10%, 15% and one time a 25% off coupon...

I got a 10% off about 3 months ago - : EBAY5STARS0826
also, stay away from the zinc they will rust up depending on your wheels it may be very noticeable.

Wow that was too cool of you JaredLS! That coupon code actually worked!
I got 10% off, and it made the decision for me on which to get.

I got the R1 Concepts Premium Slotted Rotors:

http://www.r1concepts.com/lincoln-ls-2002-brakes-PS.61062.htm
(G3500 iron grade)

Very cool! Thank You JAREDLS!

I now have Porterfield R4-S pads and R1Concepts Premium Slotted Rotors ordered!

(Right now it's cheaper to order the Porterfield pads from www.lpiracing.com w/free shipping instead of www.porterfield-brakes.com saving $25 + shipping costs, and order the R1Concepts Premium Rotors directly from www.r1concepts.com instead of using R1Concepts eBay store saving $73 ... even without a coupon).

no problem, glad you could use it. It seems like the code is not a one-time use, as it was on a flyer....but the 0826 makes me think it will expire on the 26 of this month.
as long as we are on the subject, I also have a coupon for autopartsnerd that maybe someone is interested in: APN2 (expires 12/2012)
Enjoy the Porterfield's, in my experience they are better than the R1 pads and the stock. The Porterfields had better stopping than R1's once they heated up - and had much less dust than the R1's. The stocks had the least dust but brake fade was the worst.
