So I ordered some products today for the Mark. I will get some pics and vids up once installed - which may be a bit with 80 degree temps.

But I wanted to say that they came with a "Thank You" mint. How bizarre!

Screw the weather, I want these little toys in. So I did. They are both lighting effects kits. One kit flashes the rear high brake light a few times. It features a function that "kills" the flash for 20 seconds after it does it once. This prevents constant flashing in bumper to bumper traffic. The other kit brings Gen II theatre lighting to my 96. This is something I have wanted for a long time. The kits come with all you need:

First the movies:

The brake light kit is VERY easy to install:

Locate the brake light connector:

Split just the green wire:

Red wire connects to the brake switch. White to the lamps. Black gets a quick-splice connection to the black:

Theatre lighting was a bit more challenging in the Mark. 96hotrodlincoln was nice enough to provide me with the schematics. I happen to hit the nail on the head in the first attempt:

Two harnesses need to be tapped for this one. One on the left and lower right:

The one on the left gets the "ignition on" tap first. This is so when you turn the key the lights dim right away. Book says W/P but mine was purple with orange stripe:

Next you need a 12 volt+ source. Orange harness wire to yellow kit wire:

Now you need a ground (black to black) and power to head to the interior lights which is black with light blue stripe to red on the kit:

Nice. Where did you get the brake light kit?

I took my front and back overhead interior lamps apart and pulled out the connector for the door switch, so my floor lights come on with the door but not the overhead. The overhead still come on, but only manually. Does this kit you have "slowly dim" the lights, or is it a timed kill? hard to tell in the daylight vid

I got the kits from:

http://www.webelectricproducts.com/

You could make them cheaper yourself, I have the schematics. But I never got around to it. I had the above site bookmarked for a long time.

"Does this kit you have "slowly dim" the lights, or is it a timed kill? hard to tell in the daylight vid"

This what it does, which I like. The Mark has a default time the lamps stay on once you press the keypad, open the door, etc. This kit also has that and its 20 seconds. So the lights stay on a while longer than before since the car will kill the light but thats when the kit kicks in for another 20 seconds. Make sense? Then they dim real nice. Since it has an ignition trigger they also dim as soon as you turn they key.

I LOVE IT!

By the way, the dimming is very smooth. In the vid it looks like it kinda "steps" down. Thats my camera adjusting for the light conditions.

I will see if I can get some better footage tonight, I think I have another blank CD laying around for my camera.

Thanks.. interesting, too.

I'd be interested in the one touch turn signal for as much interstate driving as I do. Not listed as universal though. :eyeroll:

On the other site, LOD, it was suggested that wire nuts not be used. And he is right. On a moving, vibrating car they can easily fall off. A butt connector would be better and I will replace them. The kit came with them so I just used them.

I may have to re-write the dimming lights directions. I have problems with the energy saver kicking in and killing the keypad. Its been a sporadic problem. But now it seems like the module I installed may be tripping the energy sentry. I might have to install a couple diodes or something.

OK, seems to be fine. Worked twice now after the car sat many hours. I think I need to replace the sensors in the doors, they are getting to be a pain.

Nice find, with the theater lighting. I feel like I need that feature now.
