i got a kid trying to sell me a yellow top whats a decent offer for one of these things used ?

Dunno. I've never bought a used battery before. Iirc my yellow top new was 200ish.

the kid told me its still under warranty. its like 4 months old ill give him like 150 for it

There's no good way to tell how much life is left in a battery. Even reading the date, if available, won't tell you what use the battery has gone through. Optima Batteries are all priced around $200. I don't remember exactly, but my red top was about that much.

KS

you can get the new for 165..If he has the papers that say its as old as he says offer him 100-125.

tell him 100 then look at the battery there should be a date sticker there. go to autozone tell them the battery is no good. if they ask y your not in the system bitch and say they never put you in then talk to manager and get new one free lol

lmao are you serious im about to do that

Optimas last a long time....they are deep cycle so even if it was fully discharged it can be charged back up to full power.

regular batteries get trashed if theyre fully discharged.

Lots of issues out there with Optima. I would go with Orbital or Odyssey if you want a closed-cell battery.

Optimas are really good batteries I have one running my 2 kicker L7s..205 new from autozone very worth it.

Most people don't. I did because I value my safety, and the safety of my passengers.

Allow me to complete your statement.

Most people don't externally vent the battery, instead they allow it to vent to the interior of the car.

correct. Suppose I could've made it more precise. :D

I measured the vent on the battery. Then I found the gray pieces that had an interior diameter slightly larger, and just used the size hose that fit those connectors. I wanna say they had to be 3/4" interior diameter to fit over the vents.

did you do it as when you installed the battery or after it was installed for a little bit ?

if your going to do it, you might as well just do it at the same time you install the battery, there is no reason to drive around in a potentially dangerous situation.
