not that much lighter. a few lbs at the most.

If you're gonna run Optima you might want to look into the yellow top instead of the read top. Most stereo guys run the yellow top and that is due to the fact that it has a better deep cycle capability. So, if you have anything extra electronically on your car you are better off with the yellow top. Not that there is anything wrong with the red top, but the yellow top has better capabilities. Also, you can look into Hawker Odyssey battery. Alot of performance guys seem to be running these, and I plan on runnning them as well when the time comes that I need a new battery. Use the link above to read all about these batteries.

I dont think that weight savings using a battery in a 4000 lb Lincoln is worth it.

Use an Optima deep cycle battery for ease of starting in the winter. Huge improvement over stock.

People who have actual drag cars look for 16 places to save an ounce. 20 lbs all at once is quite nice.
Besides, I think it's more like shaving from 45 lbs to 5lbs with the yellow top. Which is 40 lbs savings.

Yeah, I haven't had one. But I heard it from someone that usually doesn't joke. However they must have been exaggerating in their explanation that day.

Optimas used to be a lot better (back when they cost a lot more, and you get what you pay for). If you want a premium battery, get a Hawker. I had an optima (after they were bought by interstate), and I used the 3 year free replacement (which I think they quit offering) twice.
Right now I don't have any stereo gear anymore and I'm just using Autozone batteries which have pretty good warranties are are a LOT cheaper.

I got an Everstart from Wal Mart. I think it was like $60 and it is 1000 CA, 850 CCA. Never had a problem with it.
